Dan
Dan I am 29 from Gloucestershire, UK. I've always wanted to make the journey through Africa by Land Rover from London to Cape Town. I have been working for six years in the city at Lazard and Citigroup and decided it was time to take a career break to make this dream come true.

Charlie
Charlie I am 26 years old and from Gloucestershire. I have been working for Hamptons and latterly Chesterton as an estate agent (don't hold it against me!) in London for 3 years. I joined the trip quite late - one of those chance encounters in the middle of the street about 2 and a half months before the off! I am going into this with as few expectations and as open a mind as possible; in this way I hope I won't have too many pre-conceived assumptions about the countries we will be visiting and instead will experience Africa at face value. My friends and family all know how little I enjoy camping and so I expect this adventure is going to pose even more challenges for me! I am looking forward to having a very different perspective not only on life in general but also of myself by the time we reach Cape Town.

John
John

I am 28 years old and have been living on London since January 2000. It is now my intention to return home and thus the trip to Zimbabwe. I see this trip not only as a challenge, but an awesome experience to be shared with people who appreciate Africa’s natural wonders and magnificent landscapes, from desert, to tropical rainforest, valleys to mountain highlands. The whole trip will be a challenge.

I do not think there are any words that could describe the enormity of a trip like this anything would be an understatement of the hardships, and frustrations that are to be expected throughout! However, if I was expecting only turmoil and bad weather, I would not be planning to 'suffer' for three months out of my life - I do hope that there will be as many good times to look back on and tell stories for a long time to come. I see this as an incredibly exciting adventure - something some people only dream about, and something that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Graham
Graham I am 48 and endlessly teased about being a grandfather to the trip, hip replacement, ‘Zim’mer frame and all…. I am a finance director in London, originally from Zimbabwe, now exiled. My speciality is roast chicken on a camp stove. I’m with the trip from London to Cairo traveling in John’s vehicle.

Fran
Fran Charlie’s girlfriend, and also an estate agent (call me a glutton for punishment). A slightly last moment addition to the trip I decided to join the boys for a month, between Syria and the bottom of Egypt, four days before I flew out. For me the trip is a chance to see parts of the world that I would otherwise never visit, and more importantly do something different and exciting with the opportunity that I have to take a month off work.
